Werneth Cricket Club were founded in 1864, but only joined the Central Lancashire League in 1910. By many accounts, Werneth and Oldham have a strong friendly rivalry, which is arguably heightened by the reunion of several former Oldham youth players. As well as a squad featuring several former Oldham amateurs, Werneth also have our 2004 overseas player, Heino Kuhn from South Africa, as professional for 2007.
